Created4purpose is a faith-based organisation dedicated to empower orphaned and vulnerable children to live out their full God given purpose and full potential. We achieve this by providing access to high quality education and essential healthcare. We believe every child is born with a unique, God-given purpose, and it is our mission to help them discover and fulfil that purpose.

MY STORY
Sharlom Rumbidzai Chaitika
Founder & Director
Sharlom was born in Murambinda, in the Buhera area of Zimbabwe—a place where her passion for reaching and uplifting vulnerable children first began. Growing up in this rural community, she witnessed firsthand the challenges many families faced: children denied education, basic healthcare out of reach, and survival taking priority over schooling.
Regular visits to her grandmother in nearby Dorowa Village deepened her awareness. She saw young children working in fields just to earn food or second-hand clothing—not because they were skipping school, but because they had no other choice.
These early experiences shaped Sharlom’s purpose and continue to drive her mission. Now a Specialist Biomedical Scientist and advocate for sustainable change, she leads Created4Purpose to restore dignity and opportunity to underserved communities—one school, one clinic, and one child at a time.
Why Created4Purpose Exists
We are continuing what my grandmother started.
Created4Purpose was inspired by the legacy of Sharlom’s grandmother, Joyce Marufu Taderera—a woman of deep compassion who devoted her life to helping the poor in her community. After witnessing young children in Dorowa Village miss school during the rainy season because a flooded river made travel impossible, she approached the village chief and secured land to build a preschool. A church was built on that land, with plans for a school and clinic to serve the most vulnerable. Sadly, she passed away before her dream was fulfilled.
Carrying her grandmother’s vision and fueled by her own passion for helping to provide access to education and healthcare to orphaned and vulnerable children, Sharlom founded Created4Purpose to bring that dream to life—restoring hope, access to education, and dignity to communities in need.

Our Programs

At Created4Purpose, we believe education is the foundation of every child’s future — and it begins early. Our first major initiative is to build a community-based pre-school that will serve children aged 3 to 7 years in the rural area of Marape.

In many rural areas like this, the nearest healthcare facility is miles away — often unreachable for those who need it most. Our vision is to create a local clinic that offers accessible, quality healthcare to children and families who currently go without.

As we continue building the pre-school to serve children aged 3 to 7 years, we recognize that many other children in the community — especially those who are too young or too old for preschool — are also in urgent need of support.

Millions of children in Zimbabwe face significant challenges that prevent them from reaching their full, God-given potential:
Over 40% of school-age children drop out before completing secondary education — many due to poverty, lack of resources, or early pregnancy.
Only 1 in 5 children in early grades can read or do basic math, showing a serious learning crisis despite school attendance.
Children with disabilities are especially at risk — only 10% are enrolled in school
Nearly 1 in 4 children under five suffers from chronic malnutrition (stunting), affecting brain development and learning.
High child mortality remains a concern, with thousands of children dying each year from preventable causes.
Limited access to clean water, hygiene, and basic healthcare puts children’s health and future at risk, especially in rural areas.
Our Projects
From education and healthcare to nutrition and spiritual growth, every project is a step toward a brighter future for children in rural Zimbabwe.
We are building a community-based preschool for children aged 3–7 years in Marape, rural Zimbabwe. This school will offer early education, safety, and a nurturing space for children to grow in mind and spirit. Involving local families in building and shaping the school ensures sustainability and ownership.
In remote areas like Dorowa, basic healthcare is often hours away. Our clinic project will provide essential medical services, hygiene education, and outreach programs, ensuring children and families have access to life-saving care right in their community.
Many children go without meals, making it hard to focus, grow, or learn. Our feeding sheds offer regular, nutritious meals to children both in and outside of preschool. These safe spaces nourish bodies and restore dignity.
We partner with other Christian organizations to offer spiritual nurturing, mentorship, and emotional wellness. Our faith-based approach ensures children develop not just academically and physically, but spiritually — knowing they are loved, seen, and created for a purpose.
